The Calming Companion Founder, Sue Doogan

Hi, I'm Sue Doogan

My name is Sue Doogan and I am the founder of The Calming Companion. I live and work on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. I’m happy to travel for face-to-face consultations but also offer online consultations too – whatever works for my clients.

I am a qualified Nurse, Midwife, Maternal and Child Health Nurse with over 30 years of experience. It’s this love for helping women and their support network that ‘gave birth’ to my own (business) baby, The Calming Companion.

As a nurse and midwife we prepare women to birth their baby. However, in the scheme of things, a birth may last a day or two but parenting is for the rest of your life. I strongly believe we don’t prepare couples for this and thats where I hope to begin to fill in this gap.
My wish is to have these ‘big’ discussions before couples reach their due date. Having these conversations can enhance a couples relationship with each other and their baby.

How so?

It can help decrease the level of stress and tension in what is a beautiful but also very challenging time in your life. I also offer private consultations for post birth including breastfeeding support and sleep and settling.

They say it takes a village to raise a child and ask any parent and they’ll say this saying rings true. I’d be honoured to be part of your village, if you’ll have me.
