I am a Registered Calmbirth® Educator who also holds qualifications as a Registered nurse, Registered Midwife and a qualified Maternal & Child Health nurse.
With many years’ experience in teaching hospitals my passion has been to teach and empower people. Whether teaching student nurses or teaching individuals, I relish “walking with” people to assist them to feel confident in their growth and decision making processes. Hence, the Calming Companion was born!
I am also trained in the “What Were We Thinking!” Program. An evidence-based intervention developed and run by the Jean Hailes Research Unit. This program teaches new mothers and their partners both practical skills for settling babies and ideas to help them adjust to changes in their relationship that can come with parenthood. I also am one of 5 experienced Maternal & Child Health nurses who respond to parent bloggers on the “What Were We Thinking!” blog and app.
Today, I work mostly as a Maternal & Child Health nurse within the community using strength based – solutions focused approach as I help people to make the transition from individual/couple towards parents.
Empowering parents to make better choices in regards to not only their future but the future of their children is a true privilege.
My registration numbers with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency:
NMW 0001013216 – Division 1 Registered Nurse
NMW 0001013217 – Midwife
